Despite the weather not being on our side, we were out in force planting street trees (a mixture of ginkgo biloba and ornamental pears) with our partner mhs homes for National Tree Week. Due to the success of our Luton’s Urban Trees programme, it has expanded to become Arches Urban Forest.
Take a walk up to Cross St to find a beautiful array of newly planted ginkgos or head to Shipwrights to find a new tree-lined avenue. Keep your eyes out for the new tags!
This means in addition to thirty-one trees planted in 2020 for Luton Urban Trees and the 5 moveable forest trees, our urban forest has increased by over 60 trees.
