Keeping it Local - Outdoors - Learning - Healthy - Fun - Children

This week we have been keeping it Local.

On Tuesday, March 14th 2017 Copperhouse Activity Training a local outdoor activity provider we support to run activities took children from a local primary school, All Saints CofE to a local park, Luton Millennium Green that as a community in partnership with other stakeholders are helping shape to our needs. The day was magically captured by a local photographer Steve Tomlin.

Arches Local Funding Panel held its first funding panel meeting on the 7th of March to discuss applications one was from Copperhouse CIO.  Their Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) was created to provide expeditions and training to schools and youth groups (centers), as well as developing an ongoing strategy for outdoor activity/adventure for residents in Medway.

Their funding request was successful for via engagement events, activities, and away days’ help influence how local young people and their families, who may not traditionally access outdoor activities might be actively encouraged to be involved. #Day5 LMG #Pocketpark Bench

With a big thanks from us all to Dan the Carver and Jen for the wonderful creation they have made from all our ideas. The paint has been added to the carvings done. Now just to add a coat of oil and secure in place.

Also we had a visit from Tesco Bags of Help earlier to see the bench we are very grateful for the funding they provided to make it all possible.

The biggest thanks of course goes to the Arches Local community who provided the inspiration and came out to help with its creation, its been great fun.
