Lets Better Shape Our Area Together

Through out 2018 we have been discussing with our community and stakeholders, creating a Neighbourhood Plan for our area. We have chosen its aims and objectives which are for the Forum to produce a Neighbourhood Plan to improve the social, economic, environmental and general well-being of individuals living in a designated area and to further the interests of businesses operating in the same area who support the Neighbourhood Plan aims. It shall operate without distinction or discrimination on the grounds of gender, disability, sexual orientation or race, or of political, religious or other beliefs.

We also after lengthy discussions with the Local Authority have together drawn up a designated area that includes the boundary of of our Big Local area and has taken in some additional areas that it was felt would make sense to include i.e because there were future plans to develop those areas. We also decided on a name for the forum which would be The Arches Neighbourhood Planning Group and we successfully applied to Locality for funding to help create a forum.

Diggerland with Spice Time Credits and Arches Local

Thank you to all those volunteers who have given their time helping in our community, who have earned Medway Time Credits taking part in the opportunities we have provided i.e regular litter picks, helping out at our seasonal awareness events.

They then exchanged these Medway Time Credits for tickets to attend a day we had organised for a trip to Diggerland. For more information on Medway Time Credits and how to get involved visit http://www.justaddspice.org/programme/medway-time-credits

On the day we were greeted by Jonny from Spice Time Credits and we had a photo opportunity once inside the park.

Families got to enjoy many of the rides and activities available including sky shuttle, mini diggers, dumper trucks, giant dirt truckers, go-karts and dodgems and many more!

Everyone who attended the trip had a great day and we now look forward to organising our next Medway Time Credits trip. Please get in touch for ideas for our next trip and keep checking the Website and our social media page for more details.

LMG Spring Clean up with Friends

After having to postpone our original date due to #Snowmageddon ❄️ we all descended on Luton Millennium Green last Friday 23rd March with friends including teachers and pupils from Victory Academy and our Community Warden from Medway Council.

The sunshine ☀️ made an appearance and it was a really enjoyable day where together we cleared over 10 black bags of rubbish, created some #Litterheroes masks and some fantastic memories. Of course, we also had a good chat and shared what we knew about the area.

We then dropped off on Monday some Easter Eggs and Bunnies to say thank you to the Victory Academy pupils for helping out.
