Arches Local Joined AECOM and ANCF on Masterplanning Walkabout

Since 2019 the Arches, Chatham, via the Big Local initiative has formed a Neighbourhood Planning Forum which is now designated for the purposes of developing a statutory spatial plan for the defined neighbourhood. The Forum, consisting of local people and businesses is focused on improving this forgotten corner of Chatham characterised by high unemployment, food poverty, poorly maintained housing and a very poor physical environment.

On Tuesday 3rd of March, the Arches ‘Chatham’ Neighbourhood Forum held a walkabout throughout the designated planning area with Stuart Woodin and Donata Satkauskaite of AECOM.

Arches Local unveils new green wall at Luton Junior School

Arches Local led on a scheme supported by Cool Towns Project, Luton and Wayfield ward councillors, Tracey Crouch MP, University of Greenwich and New Build Landscapes who during February 2020 half term together with Arches Local staff and Luton Junior school teachers installed the ivy-clad wall (free of charge) at the front of the school, repurposing living green hoardings that had been used previously at construction sites.

Summer 2019 Activities Update.

It may seem a long time ago now but here is update on all the activities we ran over the summer 2019. The Lunch and Lego clubs went really well with us continuing to use a refundable deposit scheme both sessions were well attended and we used some of the residual Fit and Fed food to compliment the stuff we prepared for the Lego and Lunch Session making significant savings on last summer sessions. As you can tell from the stats in our info graphic this summers Fit and Fed program was our busiest one yet!

The Big Lunch and Clean Air Day 2019

On Saturday the 15th June we held our Big Lunch and Clean Air Day Event. Everyone had a great time in the sunshine at Town Hall Gardens, eating healthy and nutritious food and enjoying the new play equipment in the park!
